DETROIT – (June 16, 2022) – The North American International Auto Show (aka Detroit Auto Show) is pleased to announce applications are now open for technology startups to exhibit at the upcoming auto show this fall. The Startup Exhibition will be located within AutoMobili-D, the technology showcase that is located on the main show floor during Media and Industry Tech Days, September 14 – 15, 2022.

AutoMobili-D, presented by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the Michigan Office for Future Mobility and Electrification, features 80+ technology companies including the latest vehicle innovations from Tier 1 suppliers, universities, and the mobility startup community.

Startups must meet specific criteria in order to be selected to participate in this reduced-fee exhibit area. Criteria includes revenue of less than $10M, an employee roster under 100, investment thresholds and length in business.  The application and requirements can be found here.

“The Startups are a very exciting element of the show, providing visiting media and the mobility industry a sneak-peek at the vehicle technologies of the future,” said Detroit Auto Show Executive Director Rod Alberts. “It is not unusual for an innovative Startup at our show to find business, and even be acquired by a larger company.”

The Startup Exhibition Area is sponsored by Plug and Play Detroit.  With a network of more than 40,000 Startups globally, Plug and Play Detroit will share the Startup Exhibition application throughout their platform to bolster new automotive technology focusing on mega trends such as AI/ML, sensors and autonomous vehicles, connectivity and in-cabin experience, shared economy, sustainability, and technologies pertaining to electrification.

Past companies exhibiting in this Startup Exhibition Area had exceptional success:
