• The Greater Detroit Area Toyota Dealers to host Rainbow Connection families on Sept. 18 and 20
  • Organization grants wishes for Michigan children with life-threatening medical conditions
  • Auto show has long been a backdrop for educational and memorable experiences for children of all ages

A VIP group of children and their families will be enjoying two special days at the Detroit Auto Show as guests of The Greater Detroit Area Toyota Dealers.  The Toyota dealers will be hosting children affiliated with The Rainbow Connection, an organization that has been granting wishes for Michigan children with life-threatening illnesses since 1985.  The visits will take place during the Public Show on Monday, Sept. 18 and Wednesday, Sept. 20.

This is the second year the Toyota dealers have hosted The Rainbow Connection children, and the dealer group says it’s a privilege to be part of helping create some special memories for these children and their families.

The Rainbow Connection children and their families will experience firsthand the excitement surrounding the vehicles on display, seeing everything from SUVs and supercars to vehicle experiences and fun activations.  Adding to their visit, the group will enjoy lunch at the show, and the children will receive a bag of goodies from Toyota and the Detroit Auto Show.

“It is an honor for The Rainbow Connection Wish Families to participate in such an exciting and amazing event,” said Ingrid Todt, executive director of The Rainbow Connection.  “We are so excited and proud to once again partner with The Greater Detroit Area Toyota Dealers to attend the spectacular Detroit Auto Show this year.  Attending this event has been a long-standing tradition for so many Wish Families.  They look forward to it each and every year!”

The Detroit Auto Show has long provided memorable experiences for children of all ages, proudly hosting various 501(c)(3) charitable organizations like The Rainbow Connection, in addition to providing educational opportunities for students as a hands-on “classroom” of emerging technologies.
