Speaker and Symposium Applications Now Open for 2019 North American International Auto Show and AutoMobili-D
The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) is looking for dynamic individuals leading the charge in the ever-evolving automotive industry this coming January to share their insights and groundbreaking innovations with thousands of international media and industry attendees. The keynote presentations and panelists that take place over the course of Preview Week (Jan. 14-17) are designed to spark conversations and connect professionals who do business in the new mobility industry. The 2018 AutoMobili-D featured more than 200 brands, ranging from automakers, to suppliers, to tech startups as well as universities and government organizations. No other event in North America provides an international platform for this vast array of companies, organizations and thought leaders under one roof.
In addition to the companies showcasing their new innovations, AutoMobili-D featured five days of mobility-themed content/presentations – topics ranging from suppliers driving mobility technology, V2I connectivity, urban mobility, smart cities, building a mobility workforce, ride sharing, cybersecurity and autonomous technologies.
Unique communities of participating companies and tech startups will cover the following five key mobility areas.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation will play a significant role in supporting AutoMobili-D in 2019. PlanetM, the state’s partnership branding initiative to foster, retain and grow the mobility sector and position Michigan as the global epicenter for future transportation, will spearhead many new initiatives during the 2019 show, including:
- Future Automotive Career Exposition (FACE) – Back for the second year as part of AutoMobili-D, the Future Automotive Career Exposition (FACE) will highlight various aspects of the automotive industry and provide a platform for interested individuals to interact and connect with companies looking to fill positions covering all facets of the industry. The event is a partnership between NAIAS, the Michigan Department of Talent and Economic Development and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. It will be held on Thursday, January 17.
- Match Meetings – Through a series of vetted, prescheduled meetings participating AutoMobili-D companies will now be able to connect and meet with four key audience groups:

AutoMobili-D will kick-off in conjunction with the start of Press Preview on Monday January 14, 2019, and will remain open through Industry Preview. NAIAS will dedicate specific press conference slots for participating AutoMobili-D companies on the afternoons of both Press Days.

AutoMobili-D will showcase a special innovation community within the exposition that will feature 50 startups from around the world. Now in its second year, NAIAS has partnered with Techstars Mobility, based in Detroit, to curate the roster of participating startups and provide its expertise on innovators looking to disrupt the transportation industry.
“The worldwide response from startups that came to last year’s AutoMobili-D blew me away,” said Ted Serbinski, Managing Director of Techstars Mobility. “If you’re building anything innovative in the automotive mobility industry, you’re going to pass through Detroit at some point. Over 50 startups participated from all around the globe, including the U.S., Canada, Dubai, London, and Portugal. The technologies included artificial intelligence and machine learning, to autonomous and connected platforms, to infrastructure communications and security applications.
