11:00 am EST – Fast-Forward Futuring

A panel of industry observers gave their perspective on what a future involving autonomous vehicles is likely to look like, even as the industry continues to take what might be several paths of innovation.

In a panel moderated by Richard Wallace, director of the Center for Automotive Research, several observers gave their insights in what the industry and public is likely to bring to market in the next few years.

Those panelists included:

—Jeremy Carlson, IHS Markit principal analyst;
—Karl Brauer, executive publisher, Cox Automotive;
—Hayder Radha, professor of electrical and computer engineering, Michigan State University; and
—Ray Tanguay, advisor to the Canadian and Ontario governments (and former head of Toyota’s Canadian manufacturing operation).

Each brought to observers at the Planet M Theater their own perspective and that of their organizations, all worth taking into account as the industry begins undergoing what may be its largest, single transformation.
