Description: Motorsports fans will recognize the race to build the factory production lines that transform incoming parts and raw materials received at one end into the new automotive models rolling out the other end. The new push to electrify vehicles has only multiplied factory races going on, including the recent White House executive order to have 50% of US automobiles running on batteries by 2030.

Automakers spend $1-4 billion annually on these races to construct new factory production lines. For every new product line this often means a factory renovation, or even a new factory. Yet the unfolding technologies that have revolutionized the automotive consumer experience have just started to be adopted for factory construction and installation projects.

During Motor Bella 2021, our panel of automotive industry experts will discuss this transformation of the “factory construction race” using cloud-based technologies to bring the latest and greatest automobiles to the world’s streets.

Learning Objectives:

  • How automakers are using new cloud-based technologies to meet or beat deadlines and budgets.
  • How automakers are taking control of and winning their “factory construction races”.
  • How automakers are using “digital twins” of their production lines and facilities to optimize layouts before construction, and refine them over time.
